In the wake of today’s tragic shooting in Minneapolis involving an ICE agent, where a woman lost her life amid a highly charged encounter, I urge everyone—residents, protesters, law enforcement, and officials—to step back from anger and division. Violence and loss of life serve no one. Inflamed rhetoric will help no one. Let our leaders choose de-escalation over confrontation, dialogue over destruction, and shared humanity over division. Minneapolis has endured enough pain. May cooler heads prevail, and may God guide us through this difficult moment. Let’s pray right now in Jesus name for those impacted, law enforcement and our entire community.

Our hearts are heavy following the tragic violence at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and all those impacted by this devastating attack. We are praying for the victims, their families and everyone grieving unimaginable loss. Our hearts are heavy as we pray for those impacted by Hurricane Melissa. We pray for hope, comfort and strength for all those affected and for the first responders and volunteers working tirelessly to help in the aftermath of the storm. Our Kingdom Builders partner, Convoy of Hope, is actively working with partners on the ground in Jamaica to assess and meet the needs of those devastated by the storm.  Along with meeting the needs in Jamaica, Convoy of Hope is preparing to meet the needs of the other Caribbean countries that will be affected by Hurricane Melissa.  In times of crisis, let us stand together in prayer and support for all those affected. Convoy of Hope, our Kingdom Builders’ partner, is committed to providing disaster relief efforts in the affected areas. Join us in praying for the Latter-day Saints community in Grand Blanc, Michigan. We must take a stand against the ongoing violence targeting religious institutions and keep praying for God to deliver our nation from evil. We are praying for the families who lost their loved ones, the entire church community, and all those affected by this tragedy. Jesus, you are our hope, our peace and our comforter. We need you now more than ever.

We must repent our way out!

We are praying for the city of Minneapolis after four deadly shootings in the last 24 hours, including two mass shootings.  Our hearts break for the victims and their families, including those who were killed in a religious attack on a Catholic school this morning. We are praying for the families, communities and first responders as they address the situation. We lift up the name of Jesus above any other name and ask for His peace to cover our communities as we believe for peace following today’s events. Jesus, you are our ever-present hope. 
As more information develops, we will continue to share how we are supporting the communities involved and how you can help, as well as updates on what we are doing to ensure safety of all congregation members in our buildings.

This targeted attack is an unfathomable tragedy, and we are praying for peace and comfort for the victims and their families. We are praying for the suspect to be caught, for protection for our political leaders and our community. We lift up the name of Jesus above any other name and ask for His peace to cover our community following today’s events. Jesus, you are our ever-present hope.

We are devastated to hear about the earthquake in Thailand. On behalf of River Valley, we are communicating with our partners on the ground. All of The River Valley 500 in Thailand were impacted by yesterday’s earthquake, but thankfully no one sustained injuries and their homes are intact.  Join us in praying for our 500 and for the region of Thailand, especially Bangkok and the nation of Myanmar. Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.—a devoted servant of Christ, a voice for justice and a man of unwavering faith. Grounded in the gospel, he preached love over hate, light over darkness and faith over fear. His words still challenge us, his actions still inspire us and his dream still calls us forward. May we, like Dr. King, walk in love, stand for truth and pursue the kind of justice that reflects the heart of Christ and the Kingdom of God.

Our hearts break as we witness the devastating wildfires in LA. To all those affected, we are lifting you up in prayer. We’re asking God for protection over the first responders, comfort for families and the strength for communities to rebuild. LA Dream Center, where many of you have gone there on a Global Team to serve, is one of our Kingdom Builders partners providing relief. They are serving as an evacuation center for those affected by the fires in the Palisades and Eaton Canyon. You can partner with LA Dream Center and give by texting “RESPONSE” to 94000.

As we learn more about the tragic shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, our prayers go out to the entire school and church community, the victims, families, and those fighting for their lives. Every shooting is evil, and my heart breaks. As a pastor, this especially hits home. Please join me in praying for an end to senseless violence like this.

On Veterans Day, we recognize the sacrifice of the selfless men and women who have fought and continue to fight to protect our nation's freedom. Today, we honor those veterans with gratitude for their courage, patriotism and unwavering commitment to serve their country. 🇺🇸
