MC Oluomo is trending because 2yrs after court sacking, the Lagos author refused to vacate the NURTW Presidential Office. Today, Tajudeen Baruwa invaded the Abuja secretariat, dislodging Musiliu Akinsanya. The summary of the drama is MC Oluomo has NEVER been the NURTW boss. Despite his popularity, which apparently is only regional. Ideally, NURTW leadership is supposed to be a maximum of two 4yr-terms (8yrs). But that’s just on paper, they do what they want depending on personal influence and followership. Najeem Yasin was the NURTW National President from 2015 up till 2023 (9yrs) when he was forced to resign following pressure as different factions spawned within NURTW. After this, in 2023 both Oluomo and Baruwa claimed ownership to the vacancy and paraded as Leaders; both duly elected by respective factions. March 2024, The Industrial court ruled on the matter and declared Baruwa the rightful leader, as he fulfilled all organizational requirements. Yet., — In November 2024, Oluomo’s faction swore him in as President, with Tajudeen Agbede as VP, in Osogbo graced by delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo & Ekiti. Six days later, again, the Appelate court Abuja removed and fined him, upholding Baruwa as rightful leader. Since then, MC remained in the office acting as President. Until today when Baruwa took 300 loyalists armed with street weapons to enforce the court order and evacuate Oluomo and cronies. Some of Baruwa’s boys were arrested today, Abuja police said they can’t enforce court order without a legal presence. So they’d be charged to court soon.
