I finally joined my friends @alex_kirshner and @RJ_cfb on @SplitZoneDuo for a fun question: NFL teams have better access to data, film, information, and technology than ever before. So why aren't they any better at drafting than they were decades ago? youtube.com/watch?v=VCKWse…

A chance to talk golf with the ole ball coach? That’s bucket list stuff. Steve Spurrier was gracious enough to talk to me about the other sport he loves plus the relationship he had with Lou Holtz and Augusta National for @GolfonCBS @CBSSportsCFB

Wes was a true rarity in our industry—a genuine straight shooter who always spoke his mind. Our hearts go out to his family during this difficult time. Please consider offering your support to them in any way you can.

Honored does not even begin to describe it. The National Coalition of Minority Football coaches has recognized me for their Media Award, given annually “to a sportswriter, analyst, or commentator who elevates the discussion around greater diversity in football and sports in general.“
Our government and many in our society continue to peddle the lie that diversity is a threat and a danger when it is and has always been our strength. It is not something to be feared, but rather embraced. It makes our society better for all when we include all. From the time I started covering college football, I’ve strived to do my part to make sure the lack of diversity at the highest levels of college football coaching was not something that was simply ignored. Ultimately, it is on the decision makers in the sport to step up, but accountability and awareness of the issues matter. The work I’ve done stands on the shoulders of those who have come before, and I’m humbled to join a group of Coalition media award winners: Pivot Podcast, Jemele Hill, Shalise Manza Young, Michael Smith, and Jim Trotter.
A special thank you to the board of @NCMFC1 for recognizing me, and especially its founder @CoachLocks. The work continues.
