Smt @nsitharaman chaired the Chintan Shivir of the Ministry of Finance (@FinMinIndia) and Ministry of Corporate Affairs (@MCA21India) today in Vijayanagara, Karnataka.
The Chintan Shivir was held in the presence of Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Shri Harsh Malhotra (@hdmalhotra) and was attended by senior officers from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Discussions were organised around three thematic groups aligned with the vision of #ViksitBharat:
- Group 1: Financing for Viksit Bharat
- Group 2: Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) for Viksit Bharat
- Group 3: AI for Viksit Bharat
Each group deliberated in detail and presented their suggestions, followed by collective discussions.
Key themes that emerged included strengthening the financing architecture by empowering States and urban local bodies, deepening corporate bond markets, expanding digital and collateral-free lending, and catalysing private investment; advancing Ease of Doing Business through simpler laws, non-intrusive and data-driven compliance, reduced regulatory costs, faster dispute resolution and trust-based GST, customs and corporate processes; and leveraging Artificial Intelligence as an assistant and strategic tool across governance, while retaining human judgment and accountability at the core.
Smt @nsitharaman, in her remarks, noted that Chintan Shivir provides a platform for higher-order thinking, which, when translated into policy, can accelerate India’s transition towards #ViksitBharat.
She emphasised that governance reforms must focus on simpler laws and facilitative administration, anchored in trust-based governance rather than presumptions of non-compliance. Highlighting the role of technology, she stated that AI can support groundwork and help detect evasions, but must remain guided by human intelligence.
Emphasising India’s aspiration to become a prosperous nation by 2047, she called upon all participants to contribute to this collective effort, noting that sustained prosperity is essential for reducing poverty and inequality.
