Damn, Ross really going out sad. Hard to watch.
Kurrco@Kurrco
Rick Ross says Drake's 'ICEMAN' was "horrendous": "If Drake was what he thought he was, he would've been able to clear all this up, address it, and been moved on." "It was horrendous. My homies actually sat there. They lost an hour of their life."
English

@openyou48445014 You’re treating YOUR grading scale like it’s universal.
Listen to hip hop. How many rappers talk about replay value, versatility, delivery, impact, doing numbers vs “structure & theme”?
& TPAB > Mr. Morale > GNX… so what consistency & evolution are you talking about? 😒
English

@rl_rockett bro what??? yes having a consistent discography is a universal standard. evolving as an artist is a universal standard. SONGWRITING is a universal standard😭😭. when we’re talking about the MUSIC. anything involving the music itself it’s a universal standard for judging it
English

@openyou48445014 Is that a universal hip hop standard or just the criteria you use because it’s what YOU value?
English

@rl_rockett i’ll do a comparison since we’re talking about it. kendrick is a better rap artist than drake.
-his music and subject matter has evolved more
-his projects are more consistent in terms of concept, structure, and theme
-kendrick is a better songwriter when it comes to lyricism
English

@openyou48445014 Artist, rapper, musician.. whatever example you want to use.
English

@openyou48445014 Ok do me a favor.
Who is the best? & list out why they’re the best.
English

@rl_rockett there is none. thats why numbers isnt a valid argument. its measurable things like receptiveness, lyricism, conciseness, beat selection, album structure. thats what you use to have these discussions, the MUSIC itself. if were measuring classics for example then yes impact counts
English

@rl_rockett avengers endgame is more entertaining and engaging than moonlight. just like gods plan is more entertaining and catchy than institutionalized by kendrick. it’s not hard. numbers aren’t a valid metric when discussing quality
English

@openyou48445014 Didn’t use sports as analogy to compare music.
The example was to show how facts support opinions, since you claim “it’s not a thing.”
Catch up 😂
English

@rl_rockett dumbass used sports as an analogy lmaooo. MJs statistics aren’t based off a subjective metric. did mj cater to consumers by averaging 30ppg😭😭😭??
numbers are only relevant if you’re arguing who’s the better hit maker and who makes catchier music. not who makes BETTER music
English

@openyou48445014 That might be the wildest take I’ve heard 😂 Facts absolutely support opinions.
Why is MJ in GOAT talks? Rings, stats, achievements, impact, longevity.
Those are facts people use to SUPPORT an opinion.
English

@rl_rockett no i didn’t, omg you’re stupid. “opinion supported by facts”. that’s not a thing. using streams as an argument is null and void. because especially in taylors example, she makes the most palatable, popified, easy to listen to music. U by kendrick will never outstream dance monkey
English

@openyou48445014 I see why you’re so confused lmao. You processed me pointing out flaws in the analogy as “sales = best.”
If someone says Taylor is the best, it’s still an opinion. But it’s an opinion supported by facts (sales, impact, longevity, consistency) not the same as “because I think so”
English

@rl_rockett @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant you are truly stupid and have poor reading comprehension. this is the guy you replied to “just because something sells the most doesn’t mean it’s the best”. my argument is opinion based because THATS HOW IT SHOULD BE
“sales are evidence of preference”
YES MASS APPEAL
you did it

English

@AlexFon25 Don’t play enough video games to say.
Quality is subjective, that’s my point.
If COD has the most players, I’m not calling it bad quality when millions play it. It could be because Warzone is free, bringing us back to the pricing argument.
English

@rl_rockett @TheGreatElian @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant Because saying something is used, watched, played, etc. in high numbers doesn't correlate to it being a high quality product.
Like I said Call Of Duty is the most sold game every single year, but it has negative reviews on Steam and 2 stars on Xbox. Is it the best game out?
English

@openyou48445014 @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant Lmao I think you lost yourself. Nowhere did I say sales = best.
People make decisions off opinions. Sales are just factual evidence of preference/consumption.
Your quality argument is still purely opinion based.
English

@rl_rockett @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant i mean yes? that’s my exact point. quality IS based off opinion and critique.
so when someone says drake is the best because he sells the most, that’s an invalid take
thanks for agreeing with me bud
English

@AlexFon25 @TheGreatElian @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant So what makes an anime good? Your opinion?
At the end of the day it’s preference. If millions enjoy Dragon Ball, who am I to say it isn’t quality just because I disagree?
English

@rl_rockett @TheGreatElian @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant I didn't call Dragon Ball, "trash". I said a new series of Dragon Ball can come out and no matter how trash that entry is, its going to end up being the most popular.
But just because a lot of people watch doesn't make it a good anime. Same goes for every type of media.
English

@openyou48445014 @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant Your argument is 1-dimensional.
“Popularity doesn’t mean quality” is your argument. My point is your standard for quality is still opinion based, not fact.
You admitted something can be both popular & great while still deciding what isn’t quality off YOUR opinion.
English

@rl_rockett @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant name one time i ever called something trash? i’m saying some of these movies are great to prove the point that im not necessarily saying these are bad if they’re popular
you are so dense its not even funny. how many times to i have to repeat myself before you understand?
English

@openyou48445014 @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant You literally said “a lot of these movies are great.” That’s also an opinion 😂
So who decides what’s both popular & great? Taylor can’t be popular & great because you say so?
My point is you cannot say something is trash when more people like it than don’t. It’s simple.
English

@rl_rockett @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant i never said it’s not quality. a lot of these movies are great. how many times are you gonna miss the point buddy? did i ever say my opinion was fact? what was the point?
just BECAUSE its popular, doesnt mean its QUALITY. so JUST LIKE MOVIES, using numbers doesnt mean anything
English

@openyou48445014 @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant Some prefer action movies & some prefer Taylor Swift. Not really a gotcha 😂
Saying them “not quality” because you don’t like them is an OPINION. If popularity don’t equal quality, it also don’t mean it’s trash.
People listen to what they like. Your opinion isn’t fact.
English

@rl_rockett @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant this is flat out wrong lmaooo you’re missing the point. moonlight could’ve had the best marketing in the world, it would never outsell a blockbuster action movie.
movies, just like popular music, cater to the average consumer. look at this fucking list🤣🤣

English

They really know how to fuck up a good thing.

@openyou48445014 @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant I see it differently. Movie opening sales are 100% hype & marketing.
After that they get consumed again if people liked it (maybe). Music gets consumed way more frequently and far more easier to replay. People aren’t replaying songs that they find bad, unless they hate listening
English

@rl_rockett @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant i agree that the mcdonald’s analogy has different factors, which are comparable, but it’s SIMPLER to use movies. movies are very much comparable to music and i just explained why. movies/music aren’t just consumed based of preference. consumers are catered to, youre ignoring this
English

@openyou48445014 @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant So you agree then the analogies are flawed. 😂
My point was McDonald’s/movies aren’t comparable to music. Music is consumed on preference, people return to what they like, and there’s no objective metric for “quality music.” If millions like it, your opinion don’t change that.
English

@rl_rockett @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant so when i said “the point still stands” you couldve just not responded lmao. or actually respond to the analogy which you did just now
music gets replayed because whole albums let alone songs are shorter than movies lol. the form of APPEAL and mass consumer tailoring is the same
English

@openyou48445014 @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant Yes, popular don’t mean better. I pointed out the analogy was flawed because McDonald’s has variables music doesn’t.
Movies aren’t comparable either. Music gets replayed thousands of times. Bad movies don’t get rewatched. If Taylor’s music sucked why do people return to it?
English

@openyou48445014 @mathyu_junior @_MandaaaS @LovePassant McDonald’s was a bad analogy because price & convenience matter there. Movies remove those variables, so why would I argue something unrelated to my argument because YOU want to argue about it?
English
