#GetThis - On October 14, 2025, the Fort Worth Police Department's Operations & Surveillance Team (OST), along with the Arlington Police Department, successfully apprehended two suspects believed to be involved in a bank jugging operation across multiple cities. OST officers received information that two individuals—later identified as Courtland Smith-Montgomery and Geremy Brown—were possibly casing a Wells Fargo Bank located in the 1000 block of E. Berry Street in Fort Worth. Officers located the individuals in a white sedan, parked facing both the entrance and drive-thru of the bank. Officers noted that the license plate did not match the vehicle, and neither occupant appeared to be conducting any legitimate business at the bank. Maintaining surveillance, officers followed the white sedan to a second Wells Fargo Bank in the 900 block of Rosedale Street in Fort Worth, where the same suspicious behavior was observed. Again, the suspects remained in the vehicle without attempting to enter the bank. The vehicle then traveled to Arlington, Texas, where it parked in front of the Navy Federal Credit Union, located at 4500 Waxwing Drive. Officers observed a bank customer exit the credit union with an envelope and enter their vehicle. The suspects then began following the victim to a Walmart Supercenter in the 4800 block of S. Cooper Street. Surveillance continued as the victim parked and entered the store. At that time, officers observed Courtland Smith-Montgomery exit the white sedan, break the rear passenger-side window of the victim’s vehicle, and steal the envelope containing recently withdrawn cash. Smith-Montgomery returned to the white sedan and quickly fled the scene. Officers maintained surveillance, and members of the Fort Worth Criminal Tracking Unit apprehended both Smith-Montgomery and Brown shortly thereafter. The stolen funds were recovered and returned to the victim. The Arlington Police Department provided assistance by processing the scene and conducting interviews that ultimately led to the arrests. Both suspects were taken by Arlington Police. During the operation, one of the Fort Worth officers discovered an abandoned puppy in a crate at a Fort Worth gas station. Concerned for the animal’s welfare, the officer took the puppy into their care. The puppy accompanied the officer throughout the surveillance operation and, after the successful arrests, the officer officially adopted the puppy and took him home. This case is a testament to the commitment, teamwork, and compassion demonstrated by law enforcement officers in the Fort Worth and Arlington communities. Fort Worth Report # 250077363
