Thinking of El Paso — our beautiful, strong, resilient, caring community. We owe the survivors and the families of those who were taken from us 6 years ago our love and enduring support. But most of all, we owe them action. We can’t remember the 23 incredible lives we lost without fully committing ourselves to the hard work necessary to prevent this kind of terror, hate, and violence from ever happening again.

On Aug. 3, 2019, El Paso was changed forever by a racist terror attack. This attack was driven by a belief that some people are worth less than others. The hateful belief system that drove the gunman is now more mainstream, not less. Today, I remember those we lost. 1/
