@njmkwilson Where the grade is really borderline I might raise it based on effort, but the basic mark is a measure of achievement not effort

@njmkwilson Your grade is indicating what standard they’ve reached, not what kind of person they are. The written evaluation is for saying ‘she is smart but doesn’t apply herself’ or ‘she has achieved her command of the material through motivation and hard work’

It’s kinda devastating the way kids grow out of their cute-but-incorrect word pronunciations and the adults in their life are left using them instead My mom and aunt still sometimes call ballerinas “wallowinas” because that’s how I pronounced it in like 1998
