@njmkwilson Your grade is indicating what standard they’ve reached, not what kind of person they are. The written evaluation is for saying ‘she is smart but doesn’t apply herself’ or ‘she has achieved her command of the material through motivation and hard work’

@njmkwilson This is a different kind of book, but how about Connie Willis’ Doomsday Book? It has pandemic and time travel. And iirc it doesn’t have a lot that’s inappropriate for her age (except for, you know, death)
