Cold temps will continue into tomorrow, with a hard freeze expected tonight. Leave faucets dripping, insulate exposed pipes, and if you’re away, keep the heat set no lower than 55°F to help prevent frozen pipes. For electric, natural gas, or water emergencies, call 252-467-4800.

Natural Gas Outage Alert: Update (3:40 PM): The natural gas line has been repaired, and service has been restored.

Outage Alert: A contractor has struck a natural gas line at the Tiffany Square Shopping Center, resulting in a natural gas outage affecting businesses along Tiffany Blvd and the Benvenue Shopping Plaza. Crews are currently on site to restore natural gas service to the area.

We’ve had an increase in calls about the smell of natural gas. Energy Resources and the Rocky Mount Fire Department are investigating, and no leaks have been found so far. If you smell gas, call 911 or 252-467-4800 (option 2). Your safety is our priority.

Keep an eye on the forecast over the next few days, as a combination of wintry forms of precipitation could develop. Stay safe, stay warm, and be prepared for the cold weather ahead!
