My first child was unplanned and born in between the fall and spring semesters, my senior year of college. At the time I felt like it was a death sentence. In hindsight, it was a blessing. I had the energy and youthfulness to do things with him (and my subsequent two kids) to do things I never would have considered if I was in my 30s or 40s.
Even in my own life, my wife is who pushed the timeline forward on children, and I’m glad she did.
Many men are stuck in a state of extended adolescence. I was.
You make some money, you’re fit, cool friends, life is easy, why disrupt it?
Gonna wake up at 40 and go WTF tho.
