When I was 27 and employeed, my employeer back then had a lot of things for me to do each and every day, but "Stefan, go and find every usage of the STL in our codebase, and replace everything with your own implementation" certainly was not on the list.

With some of these takes that make it sound like there is only one True Way of Programming, Ryan, at some point I hope you realize that - if I'm not mistaken - you're writing from the elevated position of being a gifted 27-year old who gets paid to work on a project alone.

Whatever you believe about whether Donald Trump engaged in insurrection has no bearing on whether he’s eligible to run for president. No legislative, executive, or judicial body of a state should engage in extraconstitutional decision-making to disqualify a federal candidate from the ballot. This isn’t accountability; it’s an assault on due process of law. It undermines our electoral system and threatens every federal candidate for office.

@ridilculous @mikulasflorek I don't see the STL averse being the ones paying the early adopter tax on modules. And the tax is high. The people that actually like the STL still don't use modules.

Why don't you use STL? Single 3rd party lib leaking stl headers. Just one of them taking as long as the rest of the engine.

ソフトウェア産業で働いた経験は結構あるけど、コードレビューが本当によい慣習だというのは今だにあんまり納得してないんだよな。GoogleとかLLVMでやっていたようなコードレビューの多くは重箱の隅を突くような感じで、時間がとにかくかかるわりにリターンがあんまりない感じがした。

@Atrix256 The worst is VS2022. If you have some text highlighted and you want to replace it with a parenthesis or quotes or something, VS will surround the highlighted text with the symbol instead of replacing it. Terrible when refactoring code.

@cenkuygur I don't think a lack of regulations is the issue. I think it's the lack of liability that NS faces. Need something like a corporate death penalty.
