I’ve been going into Porsche for the last 3 months, to look at a beautiful 911 that’s for sale at £150k. I offered them £100k for it two months ago, but they disgustingly refused. I just go back daily just to look at it, and promise that a new offer is coming. Fingers crossed.

@mattyclark10 No, I agree. There’s no such thing now. Clubs always seem to have the personal terms agreed before the fee.

@rob_laws_85 There's been nothing leaked to suggest lfc had tapped up isam though. Only that isak wants out.

Why are Liverpool the bad guys in this situation? Its been reported countless times isak has told Newcastle he wants away. Liverpool haven't tapped him up (as reported by several reliable sources). So wheres this narrative coming from?
Elton Welsby@WelsbyElton

Liverpool have thrown Isak under the bus. He's become public enemy number one in Newcastle. Liverpool went through the back door and tapped him up knowing he'd cost £140m+. Player goes on strike and is left to stew. It really does stink and the blame lies firmly with L'pool.

@mattyclark10 You asked how Liverpool are being made out as the bad guys. Well, it’s when stuff gets leaked, usually via agents, it’s perceived by some that it’s coming from the buying club to unsettle the player.

@P_Lzrs No, it came out that we were in for Ekitike (that it was a signing to play alongside Isak) It then came out yous were in for him, then days later it was all but confirmed. Then Isak’s people leaked to the press he was wanting to “explore his options”.

@rob_laws_85 Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't it all start coming to a head after we made our "informal" approach? I seem to recall that's when (I assume) Isak's camp started putting out briefings, and things got heavy after our rejected bid.

If players were forced to “honour that contract,” they (or at the very least the best of them) would insist on 2-3 year contracts when entering that key 22-24 year age range, leaving their clubs with minimal selling power and even less ability to strengthen via transfer spending.
FourFourTwo@FourFourTwo

💥 "If you sign a contract, I firmly believe the first thing you do is, 'Well, I'm here for three years. I'm here for four years. I'm going to honour that contract' - you sign it, because you're happy with it. 👀 "I think it's been poor - you can't behave like that I don't think." 🎙️ Ally McCoist on Alexander Isak's #NUFC conduct this summer.

@P_Lzrs Agreed. Makes the Isak situation even harder to deal with though. Still can’t get my head around the fact Isak (or agent) waited until yous had more or less completed Ekitike before declaring his desire to leave.

@Jordaninho_11 @RobGutmann Both of those were to add depth after losing Wilson. Wasn’t until an interest in Ekitike became apparent that all the shit with Isak started.

This is why we had the brief from Isak’s side this morning. The player will not want to be ‘the victim’ of Newcastle’s market failures. Also, with each passing day, now, his suspicion will (correctly) be that it suits NUFC to be failing in their endeavours to replace him.
Craig Hope@CraigHope_DM

🚨 With each passing day (& target gone), the chances of Isak NOT being allowed to leave increase ✋ NUFC's strongest hand in getting him back on board is that they can say... we tried ❌ But without suitable replacement (s) he cannot go 👇 This & more explored below 👇

@P_Lzrs Aye, suppose. I just think it’s strange we didn’t start looking at a high profile striker until 4 weeks ago. You’d assume it would’ve been top of our list as soon as the window opened.

@rob_laws_85 I mean, none of us know what was discussed behind scenes or what compromises were involved either during initial negotiations or last year. You're assuming Isak has been badly advised, but he could very well be steering this.

@P_Lzrs I think PIF will look to save face and reject any offer below £150m. Regardless of what happens next, Isak needs a new agent. The whole shot show is down to being badly advised even as far back as not putting a release clause in his original contract.
