@maxhoma23 I think it was the tone. Obviously, a 5 handicapper is not great when you're a pro. But compared to 98% of golfers a 5 handicapper is pretty solid. Maybe "good, but inconsistent" would be a better description :)

I respect a lot of people I disagree with. Think it's actually quite healthy to do so. Yes there's a lot to dislike about Gladwell's work, but there's also a lot to admire. Especially his storytelling skills. (I suspect many of his biggest haters might just be a bit jealous.)
