There’s quite a bit in that story that doesn’t line up with my (informed) sense at the time. Grizzlies players, especially Ja, were very supportive of Iisalo becoming the full time head coach.
Here was Ja on Iisalo to end last season.

I generally think we should give coaches more time. College football as the prime example, some great coaches were fired for a little slump, but you GOTTA be able to adjust. Love seeing Ced’s minutes go up, but almost nothing else has changed.

It's strange how expansion talk has slowed. For a long while the 2026-27 season was expected to be the launch for Seattle and Vegas or Mexico City. Yet it's crickets now. So while I doubt this happens...who knows. Maybe the powers that be favor relocation over expansion. Or both.

Grizz are 8 games into the season, and we’ve lost 2 maybe 3 games that we could have won. At some point fans need to relax and give people time to work things out. Sometimes you hate someone and 6 months later, you’re close - sometimes not. But let’s wait more than 2 weeks.
