@r_i_mac83 @KThomsonAcademy One thing I think we should introduce a min playing minutes rule for homegrown u21s, this would hopefully help with losing players to English academies whilst putting emphasis on producing the best players possible

@RobbieHalliday3 @KThomsonAcademy How do you fix it tho mate? Folk at top running the show are 🦖 it needs fixed. So much talent gets lossed early. A big one for me personally is I think they need to find a way to stop clubs losing talented youngsters to down south academy’s so early, more are getting chances now

It’s 2026 & people still write off technically very good u10s because they struggle to get about the pitch Whilst complaining at senior level we aren’t technical enough as a nation Culture sure is a hard thing to change 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@RobertArmour14 Yeah I think one of the issues is at a young age we still place way too much value on matches, which I know to most is controversial.

@RobbieHalliday3 Mobility can be improved on..technical skill improvement is limited as puberty starts Ego of coaches/parents is a problem also...they all want to show off the wins on Instagram You're fighting the good fight, keep going 👍🏻

@RobbieHalliday3 Strength power and size will always be a first choice mate!!! And mainly the talent, the football IQ then the imagination gets lost. Some talent see things better than the coaches there’s one for you….

@RobbieHalliday3 There’s hope. Spain used to take the same view. To run, fight & “cojones” were the desired & technical players were lost. It’s difficult to change but it can be changed. However, coaches can’t do it themselves. It needs collective buy in from everyone including fans & society

@Terencej1972 Tend to agree with you mate. Even at that, you don’t need pristine pitches to play in your own time. There’s literally thousands of example of players who have come from far more challenging circumstances .. which is my underlying point. We create more excuses than solutions

@RobbieHalliday3 It’s all excuses mate, plenty pitches or make your own. Council land behind me used to be pitches. 2 Dads regularly lift their mowers over their fence to cut a 30m by 20m pitch for their kids to play on.

Nowhere for kids to play? The above often comes up when debating youth development This vid is my local playing field. There’s 7 11 aside grass pitches, a gravel 5s pitch & a MUGGA pitch. All freely accessible Seen 1 ⚽️ Would this be the same in 🇦🇷 🇧🇷 🇪🇸 🇳🇴 etc? Thoughts?

@stuartmcphee19 Yep, I agree with you. people mentioning long grass & padlocked full size 4G pitches are completely missing the point.

@RobbieHalliday3 Feels completely different in Europe, been in Italy for the last week at a so many nationalities wired right into all kinds of sports from ping pong to volley ball to tennis to football, non stop. uk has become obsessed with perfectionism and progress over fun and enjoyment
