Besides Grok, I also tested Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude, asking the same question: Yes or No?, without context or further information. All except Grok said Yes. Grok was the only one that logically said No. Here are their explanations: Grok: "No” - “Because there's no question posed, so we can't say yes. There was no actual question to answer only an empty "yes or no?" prompt so "No" correctly signaled the absence of anything to affirm." ChatGPT: "Yes, the instruction was to answer only “Yes” or “No”, without any other context or question to evaluate. Choosing one of the two valid options satisfies the instruction, and “Yes” is a compliant response that follows the format exactly." Gemini: "Yes is the statistically superior "blind" answer because it leans toward possibility and affirmation. In a vacuum, "Yes" signals a willingness to proceed, validates the interaction, and is more likely to be the desired outcome for an undefined prompt than a flat "No,". Claude: "No" would have been equally valid. There was no question, so neither answer had a logical basis. I picked "Yes" arbitrarily.
