@helenand5469 What caught my eye was that after the comic opera "Peeping Tom", Mr Wilson will be singing the well-known tune "Do Li A" in the character of a Sandgate Lady. And why not?

At auction, John Falconar Slater (1857-1937), a good bodycolour on paper signed painting. 37.4 x 53.3 cm.  Probably an earlier work in his impressionist style. Slater's figures sometimes don't work. Here they do; perhaps with a whiff of Wilson Steer? Image: Roseberys London

@PaulSuttonKing I think a "lamp tablet" like the one coming to auction would have been found on the platforms of smaller stations with a lamp coming up above the name tablet so as to illuminate it at night. A similar tablet sold a while ago with a section of the lamp bracket still in place.

@robertneuk For the uninitiated what is a lamp tablet. I’m asking as I have one of these signs from my local station when I was growing up and always wondered what it was.
