Exciting few months ahead⚽️ thank you all for the warm welcome 🇮🇹
Como1907@Como_1907

Como 1907 is pleased to announce the signing of Irish midfielder Megan Smyth-Lynch with a contract until June 30th, 2025. Born in Ireland in 1997, Megan is a midfielder with prestigious experience in the Irish Championship and National Team as well as the UEFA Champions League. The Irish midfielder began her career with the Shamrock Rovers women's team in Ireland, before moving to Raheny United for the 2014/15 season. With Raheny United, Megan won the 2014 FAI Cup and the 2015 WNL Cup and also participated in the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League. The following year Megan signed for Shelbourne Ladies FC and with the U18 team defeated Cork City in the 2015 FAI Cup. In 2016 Megan moved to Peamount United. During the six years with Peamount, she achieved numerous goals winning, among other competitions, 2 championships and an FAI Cup. Two years ago she returned to Shelbourne and continued her winning streak, winning the league and FAI Cup. Throughout her career, Megan has participated in the UEFA Champions League on three occasions: twice with Shelbourne and once with Peamount. On an international level, the Irish midfielder was selected for the U16, U17 and U19 Irish national teams and was called up for the Republic of Ireland's U19 team for the qualifying phase of the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship. During her years in Ireland, Megan also coached the youth teams of the Irish Federation. Megan joins Como 1907 from Shelbourne Football Club where she has played since 2022. Heather O'Reilly, advisor to Como 1907’s Women’s team commented: “We are thrilled to add Megan to the team. She is a player that can play many positions, and her technical and tactical awareness is very strong. She knows the game well, as seen by her pursuit of her own coaching badges. I played with Megan for a very brief stint with Shelbourne in Ireland, and I know she will positively impact the training sessions as well as help us win many matches”. After signing with the club, Megan stated: “I am thrilled to join this historic club. From the moment I arrived, I felt a positive atmosphere and a perfect environment! The club has a fascinating project and long-term ambitions that have truly captivated me. I want to be part of this project and work to achieve the seasonal goals, growing together with my teammates and the club both on and off the field, winning a lot of matches, and aiming, in the future, to compete in the Serie A championship. Lastly, I would like to thank the team for the warm welcome, and I can't wait to start this exciting new chapter!” Read the official statement on: comofootball.com/en/como-1907-s…
