#NHL to Atlanta effort continued… Here are the renderings of the proposed development for the North Point Mall area (Alpharetta). Proposal includes 20k seat NHL arena, 2k seat community hockey rink, 4k seat music hall, movie theater, 750k sq ft of office, parks and public trail space. A hotel as well.

That's what the groups are pushing to the #NHL in an effort to bring a team back to metro Atlanta. This is a VERY different area than when the league was last here in 2011. Absolutely BOOMING metro with a genuine desire for professional hockey. Right ownership, right mixed-use area and I think it thrives.

#NHL to Atlanta effort RECAP... There are TWO competing proposals to bring a team back to metro Atlanta. 1. Vernon Krause's group "Krause Sports and Entertainment" which has plans for an NHL arena in Forsyth County, part of "The Gathering at South Forsyth" development. 2. Anson Carter's group "Alpharetta Sports & Entertainment" which has plans for an NHL arena at the North Point Mall site in Alpharetta.

RECAP: Where an NHL return to Atlanta stands now... With team USA winning Gold on Sunday, I wanted to recap the current standing of an NHL return to Atlanta. 1. Krause Sports & Entertainment: The framework for an arena is completed and is essentially ready for a green light from the NHL. My understanding is the group is in contact with the league but has not met recently, likely due to a lack of new developments. 2. Alpharetta Sports & Entertainment: Redevelopment efforts of North Point Mall are finally off the ground as the city has established a new Tax Allocation District to financially support an NHL-sized arena and surrounding development. On February 10, Mayor Jim Gilvin hinted at big news in the near future for the mall, saying he is eager to learn which direction New York Life may take the mall. The Life Insurance company had previously stated intentions to build an NHL-sized arena but has not released details since. 3. Where does the NHL stand in this? When it comes to the league, expansion seems to still be an afterthought. The NHL has not yet publicly stated any intentions to expand or shown favor to one group over another. This leaves the question of why... is it because the league is content with 32 teams? Are there other plans the league is prioritizing? Or is it something else? The only thing that is clear right now is the drive of ownership trying to bring a team here. Atlanta hockey fans have never had a team owner this driven to have a team and succeed here. That is worth noting and should not be taken for granted.

I can't with this stuff anymore. For the first time in a while, the #Falcons hired a football guy (Matt Ryan) to make a football decision and hire a good football coach. I've been in ATL long enough to understand the culture and what matters to the fans. But can we let the guy coach at least one damn game before we write him off? And the Shedeur stuff needs to stop. He didn't mishandle anything. It was perfectly logical for his spot on the depth chart to be where it was. Furthermore, Stefanski spent a ton of time working with Sanders to help him. @JRCherry3 knows what's up.
