@Portergauge My friend insists it's because the night elves have the Shen'dralar who are knowledgeable about the Well of Eternity but I have a bet with him that we either won't see the Shen'dralar at all or if they do show up they won't do anything materially useful the Forsaken couldn't.

I Just think its very funny that for an, admitedly very localised problem, the whole combined might of both factions was mobilised and when we are dealing with a world ending threat no one shows up.

@Portergauge @that_kind_oforc Blizzard just making up lore or misunderstanding their own characters makes me so sad. You can tell a story about the high and blood elves reconciling, but here that reconciliation is based on a lie. It's not true historically and because of that it's necessarily unsatisfying.

Okay I need to explain this fully so people get my issue lol The fracturing of Quel'thalas did not begin the day that Kael'thas renamed them blood elves or introduced mana tapping, it was fracturing long before WC3 -- thanks to Anasterian.
Portergauge 🏳️‍🌈@Portergauge

I... this might be the most fundamental misunderstanding not only of the modern high elves, but the entire story of Quel'thalas in general. I legit need to make a whole thread about this once I'm done here lol

@hajima_7 I dont think this is petty at all. Nuanced character and world building is what attracts people to the setting. If Origins or Inquisition were written like Veilguard they wouldn't have half the audience the do, imho.

@robin_esque @Portergauge Sure, but you dont go to Silverglade unless the questline takes you there. I.e., the default state of the location is set at the time of this quest - so its for the quest.

I replayed the campaign chapter as Horde to see any changes and well... there are literally none lol Not a single night elf or high elf reacts any different to the Horde/blood elf character than they do to an Alliance one.

@that_kind_oforc The only good use Anasterian has in WoW is as justification for a spellsword mage spec.

Damn whoever planned/wrote the High Elf/King Anasterian stuff is desperate to rewrite him as competent/useful and not an isolationist twat.... And the high elf rewrites are funny to watch again- reeks of "I dont care if the story i want to tell doesnt match what was written"

@Portergauge High Elves react VERY differently if your character is Sin'dorei - especially in the written dialogue if you click on random NPCs.

Just a really shockingly contrived plot. Thinking about the forsaken and Natalie Seline who is a former wielder of Xal'atath and the leader of a cult literally founded in achieving power through strength of will. I love this expansion but Blizzard's insistence on 'this is the -

That's the end of the story for this week, March on Quel'danas is next. I have a *lot* of thoughts on this, most not very good lol, but I am going to just... try and process and hope that the finale is more nuanced.

@SketchyKP @hoothathuh @ScottLikedSLS Surely you recognize the extenuating circumstances here where he is working alone and had been for hours while doing the job of several people? This isnt him making a mistake at a fully staffed tower. He was ALONE doing multiple peoples' jobs.

No offense but the ATC guy realised his mistake with plenty of time and screamed at the truck driver to stop and hold, they continued on despite 3 call outs to stop. Human error was involved but not really the ATC, more so the driver.
Blake Scholl 🛫@bscholl

Unpopular opinion: Today two pilots lost their lives because we have an air traffic control system inherently vulnerable to human error. Even great humans make mistakes sometimes. Machines should be issuing clearances, not human controllers.

I've been reading the Mistborn books and I just finished the first book of the Wax and Wayne series. It's crazy how well Brando Sando translates Allomancy from an epic fantasy setting into a 1920s-inspired cop noir setting. No wonder everyone rates Mistborn so high. The first -
