Delighted to announce that I have been promoted to Professor! Thank you to all of my current and former group members, collaborators, colleagues and mentors over the years, without which this would not have been possible @LboroScience#useCO2
Last day out on site over as the LRWT trainee reserves officer, but thrilled to be able to say I’ll be joining the ranger team at Beacon Hill from next week! Thanks to all the staff and volunteers at @LeicsWildlife for the amazing support and encouragement over the past 6 months!
Repurposed Chemistry benchtop from the old 4th floor lab in F Building!!
Amazing woodwork skills from a current technician as a present to a former technician! @QueenPeggles
@Meg__Cox That’s been my thinking too. I’ve slowly whittled the pile down over the years to “good” notes, but it still feels unnecessary…especially as I’m not even in a science field any more!
House purge: to keep old uni notes or to get rid of the lot? Will probably never use them and all the info will be in textbooks…but it feels somewhat sacrilege to get rid of them.
Incredibly happy to be working for @LeicsWildlife as the new trainee reserves officer! First day out on site today, fencing at Wymeswold Meadows; a bit wet but still a great day!
Bumblebees and carder bees (plus my honeybees) have been busying themselves, and hover flies have been humming around the cleavers-tangled water bowl near the compost bins…#NoMowMay works - leave it alone and the wildlife will come. 5/5
Goldfinches abandoned the feeder for a week or so whilst they feasted on dandelion seeds, sparrows, dunnocks and blackbirds have foraged. Young starlings squabbled & begged to be fed (only doing so when parents are around - they seem perfectly capable of feeding themselves)….4/5
My gardens may look “untidy” at the moment (having not been mown for about a month except for the dog’s favourite patches)…but it makes me happy every day seeing so much more than just grass…1/5
