Today in 1942, the Dover Strait becomes a war zone as the German battleships Gneisenau and Scharnhorst make a run from the port of Brest into the North Sea: the "Channel Dash." The British attack with 9 warships, 32 torpedo boats and 450 planes but fail to sink the Nazi vessels
