Built this furigana generator in 2024, pre-vibe coding. Just something fun to help with learning Japanese. Then a couple months ago I used cursor to add translation. Trying to think of what else I can build to make language learning easier for me

Day 84 of 365: Lot of good fixes today for Giftings and my countdown app. I’ll submit both updates for review later Made some mistakes previously with API calls but I won’t make those same mistakes on future apps Just trying to build on this good streak and make it consistent

@Thomas_Tao_1 Patches the symptom and then ads unnecessary bloat or messes something else up 🥲

@robmaeda3 All the time. Cursor often patches the symptom. Tiny UI bugs usually want one constraint, then the whole diff disappears.

Refactoring a bug on my wishlist app. Cursor added a bunch of CSS to fix it (and messed up the padding somewhere else) I looked at it for a bit, and realized I only needed to add width and height to an icon How often are y’all finding stuff like this?

Major League Baseball is aired in the morning for Japan. So technically they eat breakfast with it being on television. Here’s their #openingday commercial. No hyperbole, when I say this, it might be greater than any US MLB commercial I’ve seen. Well done and worth the watch for any baseball fan.

Almost got into a fight with a Apple employee today. Went to the Apple Store with my girlfriend. She knew exactly what she wanted- iPad Mini, slate gray, 64GB. We walk up to an employee asking for the iPad. "You need an appointment." What was that? "You need an appointment, Sir." An appointment? To buy an iPad? We try another employee- makes it clear she doesn't need help setting it up, she just wants to buy the thing. Same answer. "You need an appointment." We looked at each other like ??? Went home and she ordered it on Amazon for $15 less. A $3T company just lost a sale because they made it harder to spend money than it is to return a product. This isn't my story, but worth sharing. Read it on Reddit. I thought this was so funny I had to share it lol. $3T company btw.

Working on screenshots today and decided to download ButterKit This might be the move, the templates are a good starting point and it's easy to use (so far). Gonna play around with it more but I think ima buy the pro version Any other good reccommendations out there?

Day 83 of 365: Made some notification updates for Giftings, my wishlist app. I screwed something up and ended up making 500,000+ database calls in like an hour So just a PSA to not be dumb like me and pay attention to what the AI is putting out

Got a lot of coding done today for my countdown app. It was really a good day compared to yesterday For tomorrow, gotta make screenshots and get the submission ready! Then, working on minor updates for Giftings Side note: missing Japan 😭 gotta work hard so I can go back sooner
