we are prob doing it wrong. at least, a lot of the time shaming/mocking doesn't seem to help anything anymore we likely need to have real conversations and treat each other as people. whether it's an anti-white radical, or a black hating KKK member thats how we heal the divide

@kylegriffin1 supreme court judges can have the final say in huge court cases. things like Roe vs Wade. gay marriage. college admissions that discriminate on the basis of race. also things like copyright disputes. business dealings. etc. you want to make sure they are right for the job.

@kylegriffin1 you have to be extremely sure that this person is the right fit for the job. it doesn't matter what side they're on. it doesn't matter what their credentials are, necessarily. anyone, even a democrat interviewing a left leaning judge, should have MANY questions.

@ezralbntseliot @AlternateEarth2 @MattWalshBlog we should have compassion for people suffering, and shouldn't deny people basic respect. but we shouldn't upend fundamental aspects of our language, culture, and turn off basic truths in our head, just to make about less than 1% of people feel better.

Shouting down a speaker at a designated event isn't exercising "free speech" in the same way that punching someone whose opinions you dislike isn't free speech. It is instead a coercive method to stifle discussion among people exercising their rights.
