With 3D AI, we’ll be able to take full control of everything in a scene and finally solve most of the issues we’re dealing with now.

@nickfloats Somwthing new is created is a lie we tell ourselves to feel better. We create variations of the same thing. Understanding art goes beyond the tool you are using

@roboto @MartinNebelong Diffusion models will just be used to improve the render coming from CG. Either using basic blocking, or cutting down 50-90% on something like rendering the apes in that movie. I work in VFX. This seems the most likely path.

A look at the future of VFX? Testing Gaussian Splats plug-in for After Effects, combined with close to real-time ai transformation with Krea ai and fire/smoke generated with Runway Gen3. This could be camera tracked and comped with real footage.. 😍 #art #ai

@CryptoAntonioni @MartinNebelong If temporal stability gets good enough perhaps, although aftwr watching the incredible work by the outstabding work by the VFX team of Kingdom of the planet of the apes i see how far diffusion models are from true vfx pipelines

@MartinNebelong @tosh_fieldsend I think was he is saying is that embergen offers a solid and intuitive pipeline with tons of control and more flexibility whereas this still feels a but underdeveloped and constraining. BUT we should watch it as the workflow evolves :)

@tosh_fieldsend So because we have Embergen there's no need to innovate and come up with new tools and workflows? I mean Embergen is awesome but still..

@glorkas @midiankai @ocmd73 I think those are just preferences. A prison full of aliens sounds as nightmarish as the original movie.

@roboto @midiankai @ocmd73 There’s something unappealing about it visually. There isn’t any cool sci-fi-tech, no ships, no weapons, no nothing. Not much technical talk about the aliens either. It’s just humans and anxiety in a dark jail.

@midiankai @ocmd73 I hated Alien 3, it was such a disappointment. But then I remember that I saw it only once, it’s been almost 30 years since then and I was 17 years old at the time. So maybe, just maybe I need to watch it again 🤔

@nickfloats You do let go in traditional mediums. There are autopilot and freeflow states . This is most commonly seen in performance arts but it equally exists in all the others. However you need to acquire control before you can let go.

With AI, control is often emphasized as a crucial element But relinquishing some control is equally, if not more, important AI stands out as a new medium precisely because it can generate infinite variations on nearly any idea If you want total and complete control over every single detail, traditional methods might be more suitable But if you’re willing to embrace a little randomness and infinite variety, AI offers a truly unique & special creative experience It’s the ability to explore an endless number of possibilities that makes AI truly special The key to leveraging its full potential is finding the balance between control, and letting go

The future filmmaker... I believe the next-gen filmmaker will be multifaceted. This will be the norm. A jack of many trades. He/she will be more than just a director. They will also be a technologist, a storyteller, a cinematographer, VFX artist, editor, writer, and producer. They will be able to control their destiny and greenlight themselves. They will understand how to marry sound with moving pictures. They will know how to work with actors and how to direct computers. Humans are and should still be at the center of it all. We evolve in other industries, and I believe the time has come to evolve in this industry. We saw it with James Cameron, George Lucas, and Ridley Scott. There have been glimpses into these multifaceted Artists and filmmakers. Let's embrace what's inevitable and continue to grow the industry we love dearly. Cheers to the future.

@CadenToMyHazel This movie has one of my favorite monologues. It makes Johnny insanely relatable and suddenly you get to know him for who he truly is. If you are under 25 this is one of those movies that should rock your world

@lukedneumann @Diesol I personally doubt that we even had an honest conversation about the ethics since we have only focus on training models with copyrighted material. But i am intrigued by that statement. Could you explain how they were rebalanced?

@Diesol @lukedneumann I have been following the development closely, from a purely technical perspective, everything I’ve seen in the video space its being judged purely on it’s aesthetic merits. For this to work its gonna need much more than just a sequence of good looking images. Time will tell
