Here's an official, final letter from the editor statement from former-Game Informer editor-in-chief Matt Miller (who doesn’t use this website because he is a smart, sane person).

Absolutely crushed by Game Informer closing down. My first home in games.

Game Informer has been closed down by GameStop and the entire, incredibly talented staff (including myself) have all been laid off. A frustrating turn of events (especially considering we were about 70% done with the next issue and it was going to have a GREAT cover).

Heartbroken and angry. Most of my adult life was spent at Game Informer. All day, I’ve been remembering amazing moments I had with the team - some of the most talented and kindhearted people I’ve ever met and was lucky enough to work with. End of an era, but GI forever!

All the outreach and all the love for GI I am seeing online. 😢 Sometimes you don’t know the value of the work that you do until a moment like this, so just wanted you all to know that all the GI peeps can feel it and appreciate it.
