@scrittler Many things bought with loans benefit us all, but that's not the point. Personal responsibility is the willingness to both accept the importance of standards that society establishes for individual behavior and to make strenuous personal efforts to live by those standards.

@scrittler An individual making $125k/yr is hardly drowning. Why stop at student loans? How about tax debt? What about mortgages? Wealth is built on debt. They chose this debt. Why should we be responsible for others' personal debt choices?
