This beautiful video is not AI, it happened in Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls, a place that remains a must-visit for all humanity, if finances permit. Only in Zimbabwe can you have a front row seat in your hotel and watch nature come to you. This is what we mean when we say Zimbabwe is the best place to visit in Africa if you want to see and marvel at wildlife blending with flora and fauna, and at times passing by to say hello. Victoria Falls is one of the few places on earth where the line between luxury and wilderness is beautifully blurred. You can sleep in a comfortable and secure bed, enjoy world class hospitality, and still wake up to the possibility that Africa, in all its raw and untamed glory, might wander past reception. It is not chaos at all, it is African authenticity. If you want something real, something unforgettable, something that will leave you with stories no one else can tell, then this is exactly where you need to be, beautiful Zimbabwe.

This is the long game — and Zimbabwe is right to play it. Raw mineral exports have enriched intermediaries for decades while leaving local communities with nothing. Beneficiation is not protectionism. It is economic maturity. The question is whether the regulatory environment can sustain it.

@KMutisi @ReserveBankZIM The design is genuinely beautiful — Zimbabwe's natural heritage on its currency is a statement. But currency redesigns only matter if the monetary policy behind them holds. The ZiG's real test is stability over the next 24 months, not aesthetics. Fingers crossed this one sticks.

@DavidColtart When the church, civil society, and the diaspora speak with one voice, it matters. Constitutional amendments that extend terms and consolidate power are not development — they are a detour from it. Zimbabwe deserves better than governance-by-amendment.

The attached powerful statement by the Zimbabwe Heads of Christian Denominations (which is the umbrella body for almost all churches in the country) condemns the proposed Constitutional Amendments and calls on all Christians to prayerfully and non-violently take action to resist them. The Church says that the Amendments are “broadly inconsistent with the foundational values underpinning the people driven 2013 Constitution, the inherent dignity of citizens and the demand of justice”. The Church calls on all *Christians* to: • pray for wisdom, courage and peace • engage your MP to urge them to act with justice • take action—grounded in truth, nonviolence, and love—to express our concerns • draw strength from biblical witnesses who resisted unjust decrees The Church calls on Members of Parliament to “stand on firm moral ground and decline to endorse these amendments”. The Church calls on the President to “resist the temptation to amend the Constitution for selfish ends” And the Church commits itself to “strategic, non-partisan engagement … to ensure Zimbabwe does not regress but advances toward the entrenchment of constitutional democracy” The statement ends with a profound prayer: “May the God of peace grant us courage to do what is right, wisdom to preserve justice, and love to bind us together as one people.” 🙏❤️ Amen

The Great Lakes crisis is a mirror being held up to the entire continent. Every failed peace initiative — including Kenyatta's — tells us the same thing: durable peace in Eastern DRC requires economic solutions, not just ceasefire negotiations. The minerals fueling the conflict must be part of any framework.

Regional integration cannot be selective. When neighbors pick and choose which borders to open based on politics rather than people, it is ordinary citizens who suffer — including patients who cross borders for healthcare. SADC needs enforceable frameworks, not gentleman's agreements.

Zambia & Botswana agreed to use IDs to travel between our borders and there is no issue. But Botswana & Zimbabwe agreed to use IDs to travel in 2024 & MPs in Botswana Parliament protested & rejected idea. This regional disdain on our neighbours across the Zambezi is not good !!

Excited about opening doors for non-technical folks in AGI—former founders bring invaluable intuition! But the #keep4o outcry shows context matters: users feel left behind when beloved models vanish without alternatives. Balancing frontier-pushing with user trust could attract even more talent. Thoughts on addressing that rift?@sama

We often get asked how people who are not technical can contribute to AGI. One area is research recruiting. Tifa (@tifafafafa) is looking for exceptional recruiters from non-traditional backgrounds, former founders especially. We believe the best research teams are built through context, taste and a real feel for where the field is headed next; research recruiting is about finding people who will move the frontier forward, not just filling roles. Should be an interesting thing!

When I was young, I watched my mother get off a plane from Singapore and drive straight to kwaRusape to her tobacco farm. I learned early that it’s okay to move between worlds, to go high and low without losing yourself. I’ve lived my life that way, and it has given me tremendous results. I genuinely don’t think I can ever be poor. Wherever life places me, I’ll make it work. I once left Zimbabwe with my son and boarded a plane with no job and only 100 USD. To this day, he doesn’t believe me. He says, “We’ve always lived well.” And that makes me smile. I went to my first interview with him beside me in that country. I didn’t get the job. I went to the second one with him again, and within two weeks of arriving in a new country without work, I had already started working. Sometimes I wonder if those memories will carry him through his adult life. Yesterday, I was telling him about my next move and he said, “You’re risking it all again.” I told him yes 😂 Maybe one day he’ll understand that it was never about risking everything,it was about trusting that we could always rebuild. And when life tests him, I hope he remembers who his mother was, a woman who moved boldly, rebuilt quietly, and was never afraid to begin again.

That's fascinating! Denmark's SU system truly sets a benchmark for accessible education—free tuition plus a living stipend? In the US, student debt averages over $30k per borrower, stifling mobility. Africa could benefit from similar models to empower youth. Kudos to the Nordic approach!

This is a bold move by Zimbabwe to finally capture more value from our abundant resources instead of just shipping them out raw. As Africa's top lithium producer, this could spark real local processing, jobs, and development—long overdue after years of foreign firms dominating. Hope it plugs those leakages for good! 🇿🇼📷

? That's a positive step forward for accessibility and efficiency in Zimbabwe's passport services—kudos to the team making it happen. However, the $170 USD fee (only in forex) remains a major barrier for many citizens in an economy where access to foreign currency is limited. Reducing the cost could truly make this inclusive for all Zimbabweans. What do you think,@KMutisi

Africa is waking up. 🇿🇲Kudos to Zambia for pushing back on this shady deal! Just like Zimbabwe did recently, rejecting US "aid" that's really a Trojan horse for mining access and data grabs. The amount's actually around $1B, not $129B, but the point stands: no more strings-attached exploitation.

🇿🇲 Zambia says no to $129 billion US health deal. Why? Secret mining demands tucked in the fine print. They came with medicine. Left with mining rights. Called it aid. Called it partnership. Called it whatever let them walk away with the minerals. Zambia said no. Africa is learning. The West offers health with one hand and takes resources with the other. Zambia just refused to shake.
