He's not a perfect player by any means. And defending the run obviously isn't what he does best. But I think many are going too far in their critique of Osa as a run defender, using his worst game against CAR last year as the evidence, so I wanted to show that he's not some traffic cone out there.
As I said in the thread, imo, Osa was cut more because of $$$ and the fact that he could get a decent return in a trade (definitely more than Clark would from what I've been told) rather than just being a flat out bad fit in Parker's defense. He's not a perfect fit but Parker could have easily made it work, but I think it ultimately came down to the fact that DAL had too much $$ tied into the DT/IDL position and wanted to be able to spread the $$$ around more evenly in future years, and Osa was the worst fit between he and Clark (not a bad fit, imo, just not as perfect of a fit as Clark).

Do I think Osa is a perfect fit for Parker's scheme? No, but I do think he's a better fit than many give him credit for. I think too many are jumping to the conclusion that Osa was a bad fit because he was traded, but I think it had more to do with the root of all evil ($$$$$$). The fact that Osa wasn't quite as perfect of a fit (different from a bad fit) as Clark and Big Q plus the $$$ allocated made him expendable in DAL's eyes imo, even though I still think it was a mistake.

And Christian Parker must prove capable of designing and installing game plans as well as making the calls on game days. Two very experienced DCs - Zimmer and Eberflus - both coached defenses with inadequate personnel and couldn’t compete last two seasons.
