I tried Lovevery's Montessori-inspired play kits with my 3 kids, and I'll never go back to other toys trib.al/erzjohF

@jmskopek I was just on their site the other week looking for a bag they had a few years back. I don’t remember much about it other than it was like $800 😅. Looks like they discontinued it

Looking for some backpack recommendations. I’ve mainly used the Peak Design backpack for 7-8 years, time for a change. Looking for: - 20L or slightly less - can fit 16” MBP - small zipper exterior pocket on the top - side pocket for water bottle - no logo Recs?

Subscription boxes are considered a startup graveyard now. Blue Apron: $2bn -> $47m Winc filed for Chapter 11 Birchbox stopped fulfilling orders What are subscription box biz’s actually crushing it OR ideas you think could crush it?

@sumilovestocook Hi Sumi. You can cancel a subscription anytime or even skip a kit if you like, so there should be no cost difference between a pay as you go subscription and buying a single kit.

@seandsweeney My family learned to ski when I was 45 and kids were 9. Was intimidated at first/didn’t want to get hurt, but everyone enjoys skiing now and we do it often. Great family activity.

I need your honest opinion. Am I missing the boat by not being a downhill skier & taking my family on ski trips? Didn’t learn growing up (resource issue & played hockey during winter), and now feels intimidating at 45.

@tehlike Good catch. Was probably a Lovevery employee’s corporate card being sourced as a last minute prop for the shot :-)

@roderickmorris That makes sense. Big fans of lovevery. Either way I was fine with it (even if it were actually an ad) except the part the guy was using business credit card for personal expense :) that was the only funky thing for my nitpicking eye :)

Lovevery books are full of native advertising. A guy using Brex credit card, some hints of other startups etc... Founders might even be investors...

@tehlike Thanks for being a customer! Rest assured that we never do any sort of native advertising in our products. We do, however, work to make our books as real and relatable as we can. Sometimes this means including items that people recognize from daily life.

Had a bad exp w a travel agent and curious others reactions... we paid a fee upfront for travel planning and after 2 months of a slow inefficient process, I just booked hotels/tours myself using TripAdvisor. Then got excoriated by agent for not booking w her. Unusual?

@digitallynativ Definitely not the case for us at Lovevery. Generally one sale per year for BFCM. Very little difference between gross and net revenue for us. Also, DTC and subscription remain vast majority of our revenue after 5 years.

Most if not all DTC Subscription businesses will eventually die out and it's because of the poor customer experience with other subscription businesses
