It’s clear to me now that the effort of blocking irrelevant ads, scams and disinformation from my twitter is not worth the effort as they just back fill with more of the same. This app used to be fun and interesting, and is now irrelevant garbage. I’m off, see you elsewhere.

Most of my time now on twitter is spent blocking ads for stuff I would never need, disinformation, garbage (and scantily clad young ladies who like my few posts). The return on the investment of my time is now minimal. Time to give it up.

@ugomonye @davidflatman I see interviews with Shaun Edwards, Farrell Snr, Jason Robinson and Kevin Sinfield and they all come across as thoughtful, professional and admirable fellows. What talent and decency these League men have brought to Union.

My sons will tell me that it’s due to my internet habits but largely my tweets these days are only liked by scantily clad young ladies with very recent twitter accounts. Not sure if I should be worried or proud.

@Edeaulx it’s weird also because it’s so obviously career threatening…. If he’s that good a cop why would he need to bling up? putting a positive spin on a CV is one thing but claiming service you didn’t do is just daft and suggests poor judgement, for a cop.

Weird ads on my twitter timeline. A hair salon in NE England promoting an interview with Chris Packham. a pizza parlour in the US promoting a Beckham interview. Various other examples of small businesses promoting things nothing to do with their business. Peculiar.

and again- why is a US pizza parlour advertising to me in my “following” timeline about a click bait interview in a magazine about David Beckham? Bizarre.

@CalumDouglas1 @elonmusk Yep, i’m in following and the ads are overwhelming there. I can tell when I slip into “For you” because all the hogwash comes through…

@rogercdavies @elonmusk It helps to make sure it hasnt gone onto "for you" instead of "following", The "following" option is a lot better

twitter or x whatever is getting tedious. at the moment 1 in 4 tweets in my timeline is for some tat i don’t want. sometimes 1 in 3. It’s really encouraging me to go away. @elonmusk
