The US only has one city. Los Angeles has 13 million people and no functioning transit system. Houston is the 4th largest metro in America and 93% of commuters drive alone. Phoenix built a sprawl for 5 million people and gave them one light rail line. Atlanta covers more land than the entire Netherlands and you still can't cross it without a car. Now look at New York. GDP of $2.1 trillion. That makes it a top-10 economy on earth, sitting between Italy and Brazil. Wall Street clears $1.5 trillion in securities transactions per day. The annual GDP of Spain runs through lower Manhattan every 24 hours. The MTA moves 1.9 billion trips a year. That's 25% of every public transit ride in the entire country happening inside a single metro. JFK and Newark together handle more international passengers than any airport system in the Western Hemisphere. LaGuardia exists purely as overflow and still handles more traffic than most countries' primary airports. Broadway's 15-block stretch generates $1.8 billion a year in ticket revenue. That's 20% of what every movie screen in America collects combined. The NYC school district enrolls 1.1 million students, more kids than the entire population of San Francisco. 40% of Fortune 500 headquarters sit in the New York metro. The city collects more in annual tax revenue than most US states generate in total GDP. Tokyo, London, Paris, Seoul, Berlin. Those countries all built multiple cities that function like cities. America looked at that model, built one, and then paved everything else.

This one over SW Wisconsin is "fun". I can't get all the flight levels here, but there are 6 planes on the same oval, and they are at 20, 26, 27, 28, 29, & 30 000 feet. I'm also listening to the pilots over FtDodge on my scanner. Just finding their points and driving in circles

Here is O'Hare. All the planes in yellow/green on the right are waiting to take off, but they can't. Yuck.

Bad night to be flying in or out of O'Hare. T-Storms mucking up the works. In light blue are flights to O'Hare. They are holding them all over the Midwest, including some just circling Fort Dodge. I saw a flight from DC, flew to and over Michigan, and they are turning it back to Dulles.

I’m frequently disappointed in politicians but Tom Massie defied the odds in my unfortunate experiences with him, as he surpassed my lowest expectations. This zero pretends to be a principled defender of liberty but, in the real world, he supports third-world tyranny. Here are the receipts from a phone call I had with this zero offering him a briefing on multiple investigations he was inserting himself into by publicly commenting on them. Rather than affording the subjects of the cases their constitutional Right to due process, Massie chose to waive off the briefing and litigate it on X for clicks. Notice I tried to call him back but he wasn’t interested in facts. It’s also of note that I never heard a single word from Massie during the process we engaged in to release the Epstein case docs. This process played out in media everywhere and yet Massie never reached out. Not once. It’s almost as if he wants to be a moron. As if ignorance is bliss for him. I’m horrified I once believed this guy was authentic.

@Matt_Pinner I broke into Senator Jay Rockefeller's car for him. He came to an event in a somewhat remote park, and his aide locked the keys in the car. I had my work truck and fashioned some #12 wire to pull the lock. Nice guy, but didn't offer me a fiver for the trouble.
