@rogerlaughed @MaceAhWindu It's Arya's POV in the books so she wouldn't have seen this interaction if it happened, but Ned isn't brought through the crowd in the books so it couldn't have happened in this way anyway. This was actually a nice touch by the show

The difference between Moffat's big changes and the big changes of Chibnall and RTD2 is that Moffat's writing made it seem like he put extensive thought into maintaining some internal consistency that makes it feel like one continuity, one show... (Thread?)

@RebecTV Say what you will about Moffat but his most drastic change (the DOTD time war stuff) respected the past and kept it intact while creating new opportunities for future stories

@Q_Review RTD2 tried to take what Chibnall was doing and make it make sense in the continuity of the show... also made the doctor feel something about the whole timeless child arc outside of nebulous feelings we don't have time to focus on right now.

RTD2 attempts to give to Chib what Chib never gave to Moffat, continuing his story arcs (The Flux, Timeless Child) and integrating them with important character moments. But even then, it's hard to keep track of what the writers think the plot has been for the past 9 years.
