Having lost a house (30 yrs ago) in a fire, I find myself deeply affected by the increasing number of wildfires and loss. Just published an essay I wrote a few years ago on what I wish I knew before losing the house, maybe a help to those suffering a loss. bit.ly/3javctr
@jamescham Your 2nd tweet in stream captured our earlier discussion: how to combine behavioral economics and computational resources, ie free text analysis of large-scale ethnography work to discover more nuanced insights (deeper than what tagged data can provide, broader than interviews).
@jamescham I saw REM play at the Concord Pavilion Oct 20, 1989, three days after the Loma Prieta earthquake devastated the Bay Area. They opened with that song, even at regular speed, quite a moment (nothing like opening a show in that context with the line "it starts with an earthquake").
@jamescham Data in the Field: my attempt at a clever way of capturing data captured not from operational systems, but from reaching out with devices, interviews or community building.
The next CDx Summit should be a treat as we move beyond the numbers to consider “Data in the Field,” speakers include: Jessica Green, Tiasia O’Brien and Kenyatta Cheese. Scheduled for August 12 @ 10a PT, 1p ET (90 min). To register: crowdcast.io/e/virtual-cdx-…
