Concept: Hyperliquid Prediction Market Perps for DeFi Insurance Could there be a model to hedge smart contract, bad debt, and other forms of position risk via a perp contract? Brief Breakdown: >Create perp market: “[Protocol] Exploit Risk” >Longs think the risk is underpriced (exploit more likely); shorts think the risk is overpriced >Utilize oracle feed from UMA, Chainlink CCIP, etc to attest loss has occurred >If no claim happens, the perp price drifts toward zero over time, and shorts earn funding rate. If a claim does occur, shorts take loss and longs earn (the hedge executed) And the funding rate mechanism in this case essentially mimics insurance premium flows: shorts are “selling coverage” and earning a premium in the form of the funding rate unless a claim hits Can dive more into the risks and economics of this in a longer form piece, but seems interesting at first glance
