@_Nick_theFox @ErukanuSenpai It does use the steam input software by default but it also has an xinput compatibility mode that it operates within by default when steam isnt running. Meaning it can also be used as a regular Bluetooth controller. And id bet that it has memory options for button maps offline

@RedstoneManiac3 @ErukanuSenpai They said Steam Controller is very reliant on trackpads and grip sensors for proper expirience so they use some other software base which is not dxinput (i forgor the name of what they using)

@RedstoneManiac3 @ErukanuSenpai And btw valve's excuse as to whyvis kinda bs as well cuz even most standard xinput is capable of trackpads and gyro support for a while now (or just warn people what touch panels will not work outside of steam, it would not be a biggie)

@_Nick_theFox @ErukanuSenpai Okay, ill admit that the gamesir is a good controller, and ill also admit i may have been wrong about the Nintendo and ps5 controllers I apologize, I still personally feel like the steam controller is a good deal for the additional features it offers even with the platform limits

@RedstoneManiac3 @ErukanuSenpai Even if we consider steam is the biggest platform for games on pc, making an expensive controller ONLY work with Steam Input inside of it is still a pretty major flaw
