The “Wemby’s total minutes” convo seems silly to me considering he’s 2nd in total +/- in the NBA. He’s accomplishing a hell of a lot more on the scoreboard per minute than anyone else this year. By the way, SGA is #1 on that list. Feels right to me that they’re 1 & 2 for MVP.

But Wemby just reminded everyone of something simple: Defense is half the game. And right now, he’s the most impactful defender in the league. If he wins it, Wemby becomes the youngest MVP ever. Knowing the dog Luka is, I know he’s going to use the disrespect that he’s getting in MVP talks as motivation. Not to say Shai or Wemby would be undeserving, but I don’t see how you can average 40 for basically a month while beating elite competition on the way and somehow lose ground in the MVP race.
