Kreider - Carlsson - Terry I’m assuming 2/3 of this line was hurt. Which is surprising why Leo wasn’t removed from them earlier. My main criticism of Q this post season.

@BullishTravis Meant overnight like from game 2 to 3 and ultimately game 5 to game 6. Those areas can only be improved on during the offseason.

@rollingdux Yes it can. They have tons of money especially if they’re able to move McT, Kreider, Vatrano and Dostal.

Ultimately the Ducks lost this series due to their overall weaknesses they showed all year long: Poor defense Poor special teams Lack of focus to start games that led to Multi goal deficit in the first period Subpar goaltending None of these can be fixed overnight.

Will continue player evaluations tomorrow and look forward to all the coming discussions that will take place till next season opener. Sad to say goodbye to this team, as bad as they were tonight, they gave us many fond memories & a future to be excited about.

@CelsDucks @anaheimd_memes They can definitely bring him in. Ducks have always had two solid goalies pushing each other for that spot. Maybe Clara is the guy, but you don’t move Dostal without a good year or two under his belt.

@anaheimd_memes I’ve seen so many people talking about bringing him in next year & trading dostal. they liked what they saw in the olympics & I think they just expect he would produce the same. but he’s not nhl ready yet & even if he was, the ducks wouldn’t just make him the starter off the bat.

@Shubin91 @anaheimd_memes It really is. He’s shown he can be consistent on a bad team and now on a good team. This while being hurt for almost half the season. He’s still young enough to grow with the kids but provide mentorship & leadership of a vet. He’s the kind of player you’re trying to bring in.

Watching the interviews, the guys are taking it hard. They said all the right things but just couldn’t break the habit. This game was almost identical to gm 3. It looked like they had a chance in the third but it was squashed early and that’s when it was over.

Personally won’t be watching the next round. I never do after the Ducks are out or like most recent years, missed entirely. I do pick up the elimination game(s) in the final cup round. But it’s draft, free agency, and enjoy the summer before camp comes around all over again.

The loss is fresh & some will cope by taking the anger & frustration out on our own fandom. It’s okay to step away & come back when it all died down or after the cup has been awarded or after the first big trade. Remember, we’ve just entered a new era.

@RyanGibbs56 I think we all would have like to see them move on, but it would have been a quick series. Would have preferred a better effort tonight but I guess it’s easier to swallow when you’re not nitpicking little mistakes in an OT loss or a game 7 loss.

I think the last thing I'll say tonight is, winning this series would've felt really good, but Colorado would've absolutely massacred this team. A loss in a much closer series might be more motivating moving forward than a merciless slaughter.

Jacob Trouba has risen to the top of the UFA priority list imo. Was strong in the regular season and strong in the playoffs. Had some turnovers but overall strong throughout. I would be weary of overpaying for him in term. Lots of young D looking to make the cut next yr.

Jackson Lacombe is another player that has arrived. People know who he is now. He’s earned it. Played some of his best hockey this post season. Now, it wasn’t without some flaws. Some pretty big gafs in game 1 but you gotta learn from it. Main core piece with Leo for yrs to come.

Kreider had a great start to his season but slowed down & ultimately was at his worst this series. Has one year left to his contract. Right now, would not extend but willing to let next season play out. He & Killorn had offsetting seasons.

They did. It was a back and forth series. Ducks failed to capitalize on their chances in Game 1 & Game 5.

@ducks2007quack Heard rumors it’s a back injury. That should explain the ups and downs throughout the season and why they would save him game time only.
