Darrell Bevell has extensive play-calling experience and served as a mentor to Dave Canales in SEA. It will be interesting to see if Canales has Bevell handle play calling. At a minimum, he'll have a big hand in offensive game planning.

Panthers are bringing in veteran NFL coach Darrell Bevell as associate HC/offensive specialist, per league source and as @TomPelissero said. Bevell was Seahawks' OC from 2011-17 when Dave Canales was in SEA, and was mostly recently Miami's QB coach/pass game coordinator.

@primetimecar @AdamSchefter Raiders* seem like an obvious landing spot for McDermott. If going with a defensive HC he fits the mold for their culture. Would love to have him back home in Carolina but that’s a long shot. That said, I also think this opening makes room for EE this cycle.

@StevePalazzolo_ NFL seriously needs to take a look at this being a spot foul. Puts the offense at such an advantage. If it’s egregious I can live with it. Otherwise it’s a bail out. Half the distance of the play and auto first down seems reasonable.

@4MR_Fetti I think it sets us up nicely to put the league on notice even more. Haven’t had a solid core of players or true continuity for quite some time - we do now. Add the right pieces and we cooking with the best of em. Shown that already with current roster.
