It seems clear an ethnic cleansing will happen that people I respect/love will justify bc of 10/7. Also clear: Global movement in response to ethnic cleansing risks being coopted by anti-semitism. I don't see path forward/where I fit in. I think I'm done/ going back to being absent on Twitter. I've compiled a list of people i respect. Follow that list. May peace/security be with you/your loved ones, regardless of ethnicity or geography. Peace, shalom, salaam. x.com/i/lists/171842…

@GergelyOrosz In most western jurisdictions including uk, employer on hook if offer is pulled. Even in US where at will termination is a thing, there is risk. adp.com/resources/arti… Re non competes, Non competes are illegal here too. Keep up the great work.

@romesh_h yes, it's just a relatively rare case, globally. Similary rare for eg employers to not be able to enforce noncompetes (very few locations that is the case, California the best-known one).

@GergelyOrosz Not always true. At least in Ontario, employers must pay if they pull an offer. I can think of a few other jurisdictions where this is the case.

The difference is recognizing that systematic thinking beats heroic effort every single time. To document one process this week, measure one key metric next month, and setting one quarterly priority that actually connects to your life goals. Simple steps that compound over time.

Every business owner faces the same fundamental choice: to either build a job that demands your constant presence, or build a business that creates value while you focus on what truly matters. The difference here isn't talent, connections, or market timing - though these help.

Three years ago, “vacations” still meant fielding client calls and checking emails every few hours. Today, I take vacations where I actually disconnect - phone off, guilt-free, knowing my practice runs without me. The difference: Running my business on an Operating System.

Sustainable success comes from building systems that amplify your strengths, not fighting your natural patterns. When you align your workflows with your Zone of Genius, you don't just work more efficiently - you work more joyfully. That's when you thrive.

4 Highlight accordingly 🟩 Green: Activities that leave you feeling more engaged and capable. These are activities where you excel without friction. 🟥 Red: Activities that deplete your mental/emotional resources. These activities should be systematized, delegated or eliminated.

Every successful business runs on two engines: a clear vision and systems that actually work. But here's what most lawyers and business leaders get wrong: they build elaborate systems that fight against how they naturally work best.

5. Lastly, be imaginative. What you think your career will look like when you graduate may not be realistic three years from now. Explore ways to be creative with what you learn so that you can build a career doing what you love.

4. Get proficient at using technology to deliver value to your colleagues. That knowledge will be indispensable when you start your private practice.
