We try very very hard to make sure that what we’re doing during the design process is realistic and will result in real world performance advantages. As do many other companies, that’s the whole point of being in this game isn’t it? 10/11

This past week we’ve seen how the customer base for high performance cycling products has changed from years past. Bikes & components need to come with evidence to back up their claims. If the claims seem unrealistic/exaggerated, your test processes will get scrutinised. 1/11

The difference is, I have no interest in undermining your work; you, however, appear to feel intellectually superior.

In the @Cyclingnewsfeed test the data was ripped from, this is what the rider position and setup looked like. I’m not even sure that the strut drag was removed to arrive at the quoted values in the test (and it doesn’t matter for CN’s comparative purposes). 7/11

@xavierdisley You're missing the point. At TOOT we focus on the design process that delivers radical performance benefit not on pointless comparisons with bikes and materials designed using outdated or ineffective logic. If Dr. Xavier disagrees, well, Dr. Stanco and Dr. Navarro certainly don’t

However. When you come out with a radical looking bike, that according to your published chart in the white paper, supposedly allows you to get 195w more aero than on a Specialized SL8 at 50kph, one of two things is happening. 4/11

@xavierdisley Your tests and data are not the Bible, nor are Colnago’s, especially when they involve mannequins with unspecified dimensions sitting motionless in a wind tunnel. That kind of testing doesn’t reflect real-world conditions or the complexities of rider-bike interactions.

1. You don’t understand aerodynamics or protocols at ALL to know that comparing values from such wildly different test scenarios is impossible. 2. You do know this, but are so keen to push your bike and its supposed improvements that you don’t care. Neither is good. 5/11
