I am looking for a full-time job. Being independent in open source for 3.5+ years has been wonderful. I've gotten done most of the high-level goals I wanted to, and miss having people & structure around me. If you know of a staff TypeScript+web developer role, let me know! 🙂

Introducing OctoGuide: A friendly bot that helps contributors adhere to GitHub repository best practices. 🐙🗺️ I've been maintaining open source repos for a decade, and there are common rules I've learned the hard way to always enforce on them. 🧵...

I made a fun little project this past week: formatly 🧼. It detects whatever formatter -biome, deno fmt, dprint, or Prettier- a project is using and formats files with it. Hoping to grow this to be used in any project that writes source code for users. github.com/JoshuaKGoldber…

One of the most important things you can do as a dev tooling maintainer is *try the tool in wild*. You need to try it out on as many projects, across as many stacks, as possible. I file >=1 issue on @tseslint from roughly every project I try its recommended configs on.

Today, I'm releasing a TypeScript compiler called ts-blank-space 🎈 We use this at @TechAtBloomberg to perform type-stripping on a modern subset of TypeScript. It's written in TypeScript and is fast because it uses whitespace to enable work-skipping. bloomberg.github.io/ts-blank-space

This looks like a pretty nice tool to query node_modules to find duplicates, large packages, etc. Multiple installed versions account for a huge amount of support requests for libraries. Wish package managers solved this, but glad to have debugging tools. github.com/ranyitz/qnm
