I’m shocked and devastated to hear that the brilliant climate scientist Will Steffen has died. I am deeply grateful to him for so many things - so here is a thread of 5 thank yous (and please feel welcome to add more).

In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. The reason: The country applies a “Housing First” concept. Those affected by homelessness receive a small apartment and counselling – without any preconditions. And: This policy is cheaper than accepting homelessness.

@pimmfm As I understand it, every human is born with natural empathy but I and many others were socialised out of it in childhood through judgement and competition. I view the 4-skill approach of #nonviolentcommunication as a way for every human on the planet to regain natural empathy.

I am so so sorry to hear that the brilliant Herman Daly - founding father of ecological economics - has died. His paradigm-changing work flipped my little econ head inside out & inspired me to write a book on rewriting economics… Here are just some of his big ideas 1/n.
