@MLB Perry flexing claiming him off waivers from the giants to finally show he’s a real GM (his brother is the only one worse in the league)

Angels in the Diamond Club
There are FAMILIES that go these games to enjoy a ball game. Most of us grew up going to this stadium. It’s supposed to be family friendly. You’re there to SUPPORT the team. It breaks my heart to see such a piece of this fanbase acting like this. Totally despicable behavior.
Angels in the Diamond Club@LTBU_2002

This is absolutely disgusting and this is NOT what being a Halo fan is about. This is something the trash fans up north would do, we ARE better than this. Be upset with the product on the field, sure. But these fans are turning the Big A into a saloon

@MichaelaB_22 What does not get talked about is that the angels never even tried to extend him either like they did with trout. The theories are endless

I’ll die on this hill: not trading Ohtani was one of the biggest fumbles in MLB history. A generational rental could’ve restocked an entire organization for a decade. And honestly? In almost every situation, if you KNOW a superstar rental is most likely walking… you cash in. Especially when it’s Shohei freaking Ohtani. ⚾️

Shohei Ohtani, Tampa Bay Ray? The proposed 2023 deadline deal that would’ve shocked baseball. Unlocked and free to read. nytimes.com/athletic/72962…

It's not analytical baseball or old school baseball. If you can only understand one side, that's a big problem. This age of baseball is about blending the two together. Analytics are a tool to help maximize a roster, identify strengths and weaknesses in a player without bias or emotion. If used correctly, it's a tool to help player performance. Once the game begins, it's about “old school" baseball. Preventing runs defensively/pitching and scoring runs on offense. It's that simple. It's about the fundamentals of the game. Finding a way as a player that day to win every at-bat I take or pitch I throw. Days when I free great, days when I feel terrible. Understanding what it takes physically and mentally to do that is just as important as understanding spin rate, launch angle, wOBA, OPS+, etc.

The Angels were 13-21 (.382 W%) when Perry Minasian said, “our best baseball is in front of us. There's no doubt about that.” The Angels are 4-13 (.235 W%) since.

We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old. We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.

@JMikeMLB While players do need to do a much better job with approach, the pitching is absolutely unreal right now. With new knowledge of pitch data we are seeing now that hitting is harder than ever before. Both can be true

Terrible. How are more players not EMBARRASSED for having such a low BA? How are players NOT making necessary adjustments? Is it because data/analytic coaches have NO IDEA how to FIX their players? Today’s players are very talented and athletic but the lack of proper development has hurt these players! Shane on these organizations! #baseball

MLB batters have a collective .241 batting average this season. That is on pace for the league's lowest mark since 1968 (.237).

@YT_OnDeck Doesn’t even include other bad moves the angels have made. This doesn’t even include if they had drafted griffin instead of Moore, kept moniak over Soler, and added Mackenzie gore to the rotation

We all knew the Angels NOT trading Shohei Ohtani was a mistake. But now seeing that there was an offer ON THE TABLE to net Junior Caminero (45 homers at 21 years old) and other prospects just makes it that much worse. Rejected an offer to turn the franchise around to chase a <5% chance of making the playoffs. And then in the offseason Shohei asked the Angels if they would match the Dodgers offer and they wouldn’t. So in the end they finished 73-89 and lost him in Free Agency to the Dodgers for nothing but a draft pick. I can’t even begin to explain what a horrible business decision that was and it will haunt the organization for decades.

@JustBB_Media @Ken_Rosenthal People argue John fisher is the worst owner in baseball bc of the lack of spending but he’s at least allowed his GMs to work serious magic and hit on draft picks. There’s a real argument arte Moreno is the worst owner not just in baseball but in all of pro sports

The Angels and Rays seriously discussed a blockbuster prior to the 2023 trade deadline that would have sent Shohei Ohtani to Tampa in exchange for Junior Caminero and Carson Williams, per @Ken_Rosenthal Angels owner Arte Moreno balked, refusing to move rental Ohtani.

@RhettBollinger I don’t get why Lowe was left in there to absolutely flail at bunt attempts, even with two strikes. Could’ve PH with Rivero (a RHH backup catcher who surely has sac bunting in his tool kit) and then put Moncada at 3B, Peraza to 2B and Frazier to LF if you got to the 11th.

@JMikeMLB @nextlevelbb Certainly believe that there are a lot of people in baseball who claim to be knowledgeable on the coaching end without ever playing the game. To me that’s where the line gets drawn. When analytics guys think they can essentially manage the team

I never said the new school was garbage. I agree with you that there needs to be a good balance. But dealing with a lot of these new school so called coaches who believe that us old heads don’t know shit anymore and that we are flat wrong. And a lot of “coaches” that are being hired now especially at the MLB level are not recognizable. I’ve played with and against a lot of great baseball people and I’ve never even heard of any of them.

The more I think about the difference between “new school” so called gurus and us “old heads” is that they have never went through the grind of getting anywhere in this game and life. These new school gurus were the ones telling mommy and daddy that their coach “yelled” and “cursed” at them. They have NEVER been through what it takes in life , the DISCIPLINE, SACRIFICES, and DEDICATION to succeed. They cherry pick “numbers” and say ridiculous fancy words to TRICK today’s up and coming generation to buy into their BS “hitting cheat code”. Then hide behind their keyboards and say we are being to hard on today’s players or criticizing today’s terrible player development. These little people need to shut their mouths and listen more. Baseball is a lot like life. @Bcole1400 @Billthomas54 @danjaques96 #baseball
