@MichaelRosenYes It is so unfair. If the pupils do well the exams were too easy. If the pupils don't do well the teachers are to blame. Either way teachers get a bad rap and no pay rise.

When it says that GCSE grades are down (or up), it is virtually meaningless. It just means that examiners sat in a room and moved the bell curve. I love it when journalists report this up-down malarkey like it means something.

@MichaelRosenYes It's not a bell curve any more,as it was with O levels. It's based on proof of set achievements. The levels of those achievements are often questionable and despite attempts at standardisation, it often depends on what you're school can get past the exam board. Showing your age

Great gig at Wythenshawe Park with #tomfender and #oliviadean. Very well organised gig, only issue was huge queue for trams. A wonderful evening to be outside
