Given the lack of trust on both sides EU/UK 🇬🇧 will probably end up one day with some version of Norway 🇳🇴, but migration question will have to be resolved first. So not really a by-election issue I suggest.

@Nick_Metcalfe It's a great track. Here's me still hoping for that R.E.M. reunion but I'm sure they torpedoed it a few years back and some things are best left as is. It's a nice and clever show and easy to watch. You need shows like that. Not everything can/should be The Wire/Succession.

@Frasier67Blank @jennirsl I agree with you. Labour quietly doing plenty of good work in the background but in all fairness there have been plenty of needless own goals as well magnified by media. The media culture is all wrong - desperate to sensationalise everything for the clicks and "engagement"

@room808 @jennirsl Labours biggest problem is the media - it's effectively the opposition, not the Tories. And the press attacks are compounded by the BBC, plus Labours own loudmouths. It also still thinks Brexit can work

Look at the scale of this switch to Reform. Labour loses two thirds of its vote.

@Frasier67Blank @jennirsl 3 years is a long time. Just needs the economy to start improving a bit and the tide can turn. The 24/7 media cycle demands constant nonsense, panic, and reactions. But I would argue some examples from Europe where even the "bigoted voters" can learn.

As I said on @TimesRadio this morning, these results in Greater Manchester are brutal. Burnhamland is turning turquoise. This was such a Labour stronghold a couple of years ago and now look at Wigan, Bolton, Tameside, Oldham. Bleak future for Rayner, Nandy, Reynolds etc.
