@halfkeldeo thats true! some do, but some don't. honestly all the trans men i know didn't voice train and still pass. it just depends. whereas every woman who transitions post puberty must voice train to achieve ANY voice change

@roomimpulse trans men need to voice train to pass too. my tone is super feminine despite my voice dropping, it's still 50/50 if I get gendered correctly

the debate about trans men being able to pass easily is kinda interesting to me bcuz is there not also a whole stereotype about medically transitioning trans men having a clockable “T voice” 😭😭

@supesbutch also t voice is mostly talked about in trans communities as something clockable, i think to cis people it just sounds like a gay voice. no hate ofc, the point of this discussion isn't to downplay transmasc struggle. transitioning is hard.

@supesbutch the point of the argument you're talking about is that it's easier to pass in comparison to trans women. the example you have here illuminates this, because trans women have to voice train while trans men get natural voice changes through hormones.
