I had the opportunity to interview California governor candidate Xavier Becerra. What I appreciated most is that he’s not blowing smoke up our ass when it comes to single-payer healthcare. He understands the political and financial hurdles, but also made clear that he’s committed to doing the work to move California closer to making it a reality. That matters to me because I know firsthand how brutal insurance costs can be.
