@fkhanage @BlackScarfMarc Keane's right. It's never going to be easy. Was it easy for City vs QPR? No, they had to go out and win it against the odds

@BlackScarfMarc I’m disappointed that Wrighty and Henry have both been in the media talking like this. I think it adds to the stress the players are under and I think Keane is spot on.

@johnanthonyr4 @jackthegooner1 Liverpool had just won one of the highest points totals in back to back seasons and had won it already once in the past. They were a top top side and Spurs were nobodies with Kane and Son

@jackthegooner1 @johnanthonyr4 Eriskons view is unfair. He placed way too high expectations on Spurs winning that final against Liverpool who were a far better and more experienced side.

@jackthegooner1 @johnanthonyr4 Spurs were massive underdogs in the final. They were expected to lose so I don't get his view. We OTOH are favourites to win the league, so we have to do it

Taking all delays into account, Arsenal spent an average of 31.4 seconds to get the ball back into play from corners, goal kicks, throws and free-kicks last night vs Brighton. There have been 195 instances of a team taking longer than this in a Premier League match in 2025-26.

@timstillman_ Do you think the way the team is coached to play also had some impact on the team psychologically? If your approach is always 'safety first', doesn't the first bit of adversity feel scary?

The Arsenal ‘bottlers’ narrative has not been accurate at all in the last three seasons and has been a symptom of a media landscape that has allowed 17 year old twitter trolls to infect what should be superior analysis. But there’s no hiding place from it this season, that’s for sure.

@LeGrove Pep deserves a ton of credit. He's without doubt the greatest manager of all time, but he also should have gone out on a high. Pressure clearly getting to him now, like it did at the end for Wenger.

Pep Guardiola has offered his opinion on four wars, has complained about buying a cup-tied player and suggested he'll write a letter to Carabou, he whined about how City don't spend like they used to, and he's made it known that London Cup Finals are upsetting him. ... and this is the editorial? Demonstrates the difference in treatment Arsenal get because you can bet your bottom dollar there would be 10 scathing op-eds about Arteta if he had engaged in all the above whilst sitting 2nd in the league after £500m expenditure in a year.

@Zonal_Marking Yeah, that’s fair. Don’t think it necessarily contradicts the idea that the reason the continental sides aren’t as strong as they might be is because the PL takes all their best players. Might make it worse that quite a few of them need a step between there and the PL CL teams.

@SVCarbaholic @RohanJivanAFC Feels like the team struggles to switch between "duel mode" and "passing mode". I don't think it's because the players are limited technically, I think it's just psychological

@RohanJivanAFC Long had doubts over the technical level overall. Feels quite low especially when you compare it to peak Wenger teams. Focus on physicality & winning 2nd balls is good but it feels when that duelling level drops we’re not left with much. Need to see us control more via possession

Rewatched the United game back today. Couldn’t bring myself to watch it yesterday. I’ve read a lot of the discourse on here post match to gauge the response. For me, it’s about highlighting what the main issues are and the biggest one for me is that the technical level of the team plummets for noteworthy spells in game. It’s not isolated as well, it’s prolonged. Happened against Bournemouth post 1-1 and into the second half before Rice’s first goal, happened against Chelsea at the Bridge in the first leg during spells, happened against Liverpool throughout the second half and happened against United post Mbuemo goal and into the second half, up until the Dorgu goal. This is a pattern now. What I mean by ‘technical level’ are things that include under hit/overhit passes that are easy to execute and failing to win loose balls. All other issues are secondary to this imo. It’s not easy to understand why it happens and anybody who says with profound focus that it’s because of ‘X, Y or Z’ isn’t being truthful. It could be fatigue, it could be the pressure leading to nerves, etc. It could be a combination of factors. Either way, it needs to be addressed.

@fkhanage @AFCAMDEN I think Arteta's temptation is to play Odegaard and bring on Eze if we need a goal. Why not start Eze and then bring Odegaard on

We definitely look more direct and have more central threat with Eze at 10. He stays much higher up than Odegaard, creating space for others. Some nice touches and started the move for the first goal, but must demand the ball more. Needs minutes to rebuild confidence and rhythm.

@Ankaman616 That challenge from Dalot is a challenge football doesn’t take seriously enough. He was not concerned with the ball just taking a man out when vulnerable in the air. Football just waves that off. In rugby that’s a yellow card or red and leave the field for a period.

Semenyo fortunate to stay on the field after pushing Dalot in the neck there? Unsafe challenge from the United man when Semenyo was in the air, but the Ghana international lost his cool in retaliation. A booking each.

@danielvane One of the theories on this is that attackers didn't get worse, it's that defenders got much better so you don't get attackers running rings around them anymore. The only one who does (or did recently) is Messi, who is a freak of nature
