@AirlineFlyer @JFKairport Interesting! My train vs car decision depends on the size of my bag, rather than cost. I can't safely carry a checked bag up and down the stairs on the train/subway. There is no elevator at my subway stop and the escalator are broken ~half the time.

@Caroline_Clason To be honest, I think more people are properly offline these days so when their OOO goes nowhere the review process just stalls. I think that's a fault in the system.

@roseAtmos No, the reviewer would need to click on a link to either agree to provide a review or not. In this case I've been searching for a reviewer for over two months now 👎🏻

Is the rise of predatory journal spam impacting the review process for high-quality journals? I've just nominated a TWELFTH reviewer for a paper I'm handling as editor, but invites are often ignored which delays the process so much. Please respond, even if you can't review! 🙏

@roseAtmos Good Q's to ask! I'm already mid career and would be researching in an area directly applicable to my current practise.

Considering doing a PhD. Please talk me into/out of this.
